For nurses in equine practice or equine referral hospitals there will be a dedicated equine nursing focus session. This session is also open to vets. Places for the VetCon Focus Sessions are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Bryan O Meara, specialist in equine surgery, will present a session on “Standing surgery in the horse – a guide to making things go well“. A free surprise gift will be given to attendees!
Standing surgery negates the risk of general anaesthesia. This lecture will draw on the experiences of the surgeon’s highs and lows over his last two thousand standing surgeries largely including upper airway surgery, but also orthopaedic surgery and laser resection of sarcoids and melanomas. Bryan will deliver tips and tricks on how to make standing surgery a positive experience for horse, surgeon and nurse.
