VetCon Focus Sessions

VetCon Focus Sessions are small-group tutorials with some of the expert and specialist speakers attending VetCon 2021.

This is your unique and exclusive opportunity to meet, engage, learn even more, ask questions, and talk through some of the challenging cases that you have encountered recently in practice.

A maximum number of fifteen delegates may attend a VetCon Focus Session. These one-hour sessions will take place in one of the luxurious suites upstairs in Fota Island Resort. There will be two Focus Sessions on Thursday and two Focus Sessions on Friday.

Delegates attending a VetCon Focus Session will receive additional CVE/CPD credits and a FREE gift!

Thursday 27th May

  • VetCon Focus Session: Carl Bradbrook and Matt Gurney, Zero Pain Philosophy and Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists
    • Local anaesthetic techniques

This session with Carl and Matt, the pain-free gurus, will get the grips with introduce the theory of local anaesthetic techniques in dogs and cats and then demonstrate in greater detail a number of the techniques, including dental and head blocks, as well as epidural anaesthesia.

    • Learn to love your capnograph

Friday 28th May

    • Standing surgery in the horse: a guide to making things going well

Learn how you can achieve positive outcomes for the horse, the vet and the nurse, and avoid general anaesthesia.  Learn from Bryan’s experiences of conducting numerous standing surgical procedures, including upper airway, arthroscopic and orthopaedic surgical techniques.
