Two new speakers join VetCon 2020

We are really excited to announce that two new inspirational speakers have joined the VetCon 2020 lineup.

Spearheading a dynamic and engaging business stream on Thursday 28th May at Fota Island Resort, Cork, will be Zoe Duggan, head of operations with Village Vets, Dublin. Additionally, Stephen Butler, principal research scientist at Teagasc Moorepark, will be speaking in the farm stream on day one of VetCon.

Zoe Duggan at VetCon

Zoe Duggan began her career in the veterinary profession as a veterinary nurse and has worked in and managed a number of equine and small animal hospitals and referral centres. Zoe has an intimate knowledge of how a veterinary business should be run efficiently – from recruiting and retaining staff to ensuring clients and patients receive the best care possible. Zoe will complete a Masters of Business in June and already holds Diplomas in Leadership, Management, and Strategic Innovation.  Zoe’s lectures will focus on effective client communication, how your clients can become advocates for your business, the challenges encountered with customer service and how being a better leader contributes significantly to the success of your business.

Stephen Butler, group leader and principal research scientist for dairy cattle reproduction research at Teagasc Moorepark, is looking forward to speaking to vets in the farm stream on day one of VetCon 2020. Many farm vets will be directly involved with helping their clients achieve their farm breeding programme targets in the month of May. Stephen will update vets attending the lectures on the latest advances in sexed semen technologies and the most current and effective synchronisation and fixed-time insemination programmes in dairy cows. Additionally, Stephen will explore the fascinating subject of subfertility in the cow and the factors that affect the reproductive physiology and biology of the dairy cow. These are topical and practical lectures that will help vets make more informed decisions when advising their clients on how to improve reproductive efficiency on their farms.
